Aim: To develop social entrepreneurial QEAS which are relevant, sustainable and supportive of their business plan and business idea i.e. what QEAS do they need to be successful in their social enterprise venture.

Learning Objectives:
- Learners’ awareness of QEAS will be raised.
- Learners’ understanding of the relevance and importance of QEAS within the context of social entrepreneurism will be introduced.
- Learners will practically develop relevant QEAS through activities and relate them, through evaluation and discussion, to their business plan and idea.
- Learners will identify areas of future professional development in QEAS to support their business plan development.

  • Spoon Stuff

How to increase the sales of spoons in the European Union market? Let your students develop an advert for that! This is an excellent activity to which calls upon learners’ communication, team work, decision making, relationship building, customer engagement and focus.

  • Random Request

This is a fun activity for your students to trigger several skills, but most of all learn that good time management, attention to detail and innovative approaches to problem solving are very important for leaders. The students will have to do some silly, but also intellectual tasks in order to get the most points possible in limited time. With every activity needing different time to complete and different number of points to obtain, what activities will they choose?

  • A day in the office

(By handling different situations and doing activities in a Jaguar Land Rover factory, can either bring ‘profit’ for your students or they could cost Jaguar Land Rover money. Decision making process is very important here. It is interesting how your students will go about it in groups, especially when there is a time limit.

  • £10 Challenge

Can your students make more out of £10 (or other currency)? What ideas will they generate to do so, when it is only possible to trade or provide a service? Find out by giving them the £10 challenge.

  • Shipwrecked

Let your students imagine that they, along other 50 people, have been shipwrecked and have to survive on an isolated desert island, where they find nobody else. What should be the rules/laws and punishments for everyone on stranded on that island? Find out by letting your students decide on it.
