In 2015 Manuel Gonzalez launched FoodBytes, a safe haven for entrepreneurs to receive the mentorship and connections they need to grow their businesses. The founder, an ex corporate banker in the food and agriculture industry, realized that many corporate food companies had scale and funding, but lacked innovation. In addition, Gonzalez felt there was a disconnect between Silicon Valley and Bay Area’s tech scene, and he felt he could bridge this gap with a platform like FoodBytes.
